When baking, follow directions. When cooking, go by your own taste. ~Laiko Bahrs
Sunday I marinated some chicken breast for dinner last night using Dom's Garlic and Soy concoction.
Brian was gifted a wok last year for Christmas from my mom. Thus making Brian - KING WOK - he KNOWS it ALL!!! For a long while he made us dinner out of that. My favorite is his cashew chicken. A while back I was making stir fry for dinner but I had KING WOK standing over me critiquing and criticizing my every move to the point I walked away and let him finish it. Little did he listen to me; I tried to convey to him I DID used to make stir fry quite frequently when I was younger and still living with my parents.
Last night Bri's at the dentist and I'm clear to get the Wok out and start cooking. I cut up my chicken and put it back in the marinade so that it would soak up some more flavor. As stir fry doesn't take long at all, I waited till I heard the garage door open to start cooking. My rice is done (I love my Pampered Chef rice cooker!), oil is hot and he's home. Luckily the neighbors grab him to chat a while so I was able to finish cooking in peace. Tyler called out for him once telling him dinner was done but he didn't listen so I called for him once more giving him THE LOOK. Plates were prepared and dinner was blessed. As we began to eat, both Tyler and Brian complimented my meal. It was a little on the spicy side due to the extra dash of crushed red pepper. Brian kept trying to guess what I used but he couldn't nail it! Some KING WOK he is!!! : )
Later after dinner he was still asking; I told him it was Dom's recipe. And as I began to tell him what that was - he said, "Fine, you and Dom can go run off into the sunset together." Surprised at his remark I shot back, "Well if Dom and I are going to run off anywhere together it's going to be Italy!"
How you like 'em apples! ; )
Peace
