Ungrounded

The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. - Galatians 5:20-23

I wasn't grounded in a bad way yesterday. I grounded myself because I couldn't brake my nasty mood. And I didn't have time to ponder a thought to write about since I was busy with work. Imagine that! The above verse is something I want to live my life by though I'm not perfect. And the last few days I have disappointed myself as I have not lived by these measures.

I'm still reading The Last Lecture and one point Randy makes is to make a list. So I have done that both here at work and at home. Last week I thoroughly cleaned up my desk and it's made a great impact on my productivity. {I have a problem with seeing the mountain rather than looking at the small rocks that make that mountain.} After cleaning my desk, I made a list of high priority issues. I had 9, I'm down to 7 in which I am pleased with. Along with that, I've been able to manage my inbox too, I've taken it from 30 items to 14! I'm able to focus on my "rocks"!

Yesterday I quickly made a list of my to dos at home. (I'm a sucker for checking items off too!) It's in desperate need of a good cleaning. By the time I got home my "get up" got up and went! I was tired. So instead of taking to my easy chair. I choose to do the "fun" things on my list. OK, maybe "fun" isn't the word. But I choose to finish 3.5 loads of laundry done along with baking chocolate chip cookies & applesauce cookies for Brian's fishing trip this weekend. (tonight is no bake cookies) - I also went to the grocery store. I didn't sit down once! I was plum tired when I went to bed - so much that I had Ty come in my bed to say our prayers!!!

Ty's first day of school yesterday. He said it was good. He's big man on campus this year you know, 6th grade! And this year - he's going to kick academic @$$!!! He's allowed to say it when he brings me home good grades! ; )

dOg is still doing good. Got a little too excited to go outside this morning and slipped and fell on the hardwood floor. So I have to scoot him back to the carpet so that he could get up.

I've got a list to take care of.

Peace

I need to make me some lists too and maybe I will get more done. Lists do seem to motivate us. And like you say....who isn't excited about getting to check items off that list?

Yeah...Ty had a good day on his first day back. The summer flew by so fast. Is he in middle school now?
