Thank you God for the food before us, the friends beside us, and the love between us.
I heard the above prayer once on "3:10 to Yuma" and then saw it again on a plaque yesterday. I like the simplicity of it.
dOg managed to climb the stairs Sunday morning (all my by myself) and surprised me as I was still in bed and he came to wake me up! But didn't climb the stairs again until last night when I coaxed him up. Afterwards I felt kinda bad because it did take a lot of effort on his part. He goes in this afternoon for another shot. I don't think I've blogged since we went to the vet last. Um, yea, there is no way I can administer a shot. I was getting queasy just by being in the same room, listening to the instructions & holding him down.
Since Brian doesn't read this it's safe to mention I have spent $300 on stupid home parties in the past week or two. I added it up yesterday and about crapped myself! Let's see what I have to show for it. I'll be getting...
a necklace, bracelet, earrings from Premier Design Jewelry
a glass and wrought iron tray from Southern Living at Home
sugar spa body butter & perfume from Beauti Control
a necklace & two pairs of earrings from Lia Sophia
Let's see - what's that commercial from way back when??? "I'M WORTH IT" LOL!
Can I stop there? Oh, no - why stop? Yesterday I placed an Internet order for two plate racks (I could have bought the prayer plaque - but didn't). But that's OK, I already have the plates, I just needed something to hang them on the wall with.
All kidding aside, I'm truly trying to cut back my "fun" spending. If I don't have a place for it (besides in the closet) - I aint buying it!
NOW, let me talk out of the other side of my mouth. We'll be getting a nice little bonus from work on the 22nd of Aug. That just so happens to be the weekend Brian's out of town fishing. I am going to buy a sofa! I wasn't going to tell him, I was just going to do it. But then the big goof ball has to inquire in my plans for my bonus, I had to quickly advert his attention elsewhere. Then the next morning on the way to work while he's driving down the highway, I sprang it on him. I said, "You know when you asked me what I was going to do with my money? I am going to buy a sofa." His look was priceless, I even told him my idea of not telling him. I thought to myself that I wouldn't be happy if he did that to me so I better not do it to him. I would actually like to buy two, one for the living room and the other for the family room since I do not think we have adequate seating in either room. He thought I was talking about the living room when in fact I was talking about the family room. I'm taking his advice and I'll look for the living room one first. So with that, I'll be furniture shopping soon. I think I'll need a sofa table too! ; )
I FINALLY managed my way through Chelsea's book. Not my style, if no one claims it - it will make a fine re gifting present. I've started on The Last Lecture - more to come on that.
Oh & my "free time" - hasn't been all that free yet and it's only day two. Last night we had Scouts & before that I grilled chicken tits for dinner in my own semi-homemade marinade consisting of fresh lime juice and fresh garlic among a package of Grillmates. At Scouts, I signed up to be in charge of popcorn sales for our troop this year, woo hoo! Don't put me on ignore when I call! Tonight, it's Bunko and I better win - I have purchases on their way I need to pay for!
Peace!

One of my co-worker's wife went out and bought $3000 worth of furniture as a "surprise" for him for his first Father's Day. Needless to say when he told us about it he was ticked!!! They were struggling as it was. He brought it up several times as he was looking for another job that one of the reasons he had to get another job was to pay for the furniture she went out and bought.
Poor dOg....I hope he gets to feeling better. I wouldn't have been able to give a shot either.
You settle down your shopping, Missy!
Oh you go girl with your spending...I'm glad you don't take after your mother!!!!
