Football Has Officially Begun!

You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives. ~Clay P. Bedford

Had a super busy weekend, would have loved to stayed home and slept some more today. Friday I helped host a Texas Hold 'Em poker tourney in which 1st place walked away with 1K! (Thus being Bri's friend's friend) - Got home around 1am. Up early Saturday to pick up Ty at his grandparents, take dOg to the vets, highlight-cut & wax my sissy. Then get ready to attend 2 parties that evening. Didn't get home late again and Sunday did chores at home & grocery shopped. Ty had football practice then they came home, ate a late dinner and we went swimming till 10pm. Oh damn, I just remembered - my mom reads this and she's gonna give me hell about how late we were up! ; )

dOg hasn't been feeling great since we got back from the lake. He didn't even walk up the stairs at all yesterday. So (and this is for you Stac) I slept downstairs in the chair last night to be next to him. We are going to get him started on some shots that will help him with his arthritis. I had trouble getting to sleep - probably due to my NIGHT SWIMMING - that it was midnight before I could shut my eyes. And then promptly up at 6a!

With football practice beginning I would like to think my evenings have "opened" up. I would normally sit through practice on the side lines and watch - but this year I want to be a little more productive. (This is where procrastination sets in - I have good intentions but...) So in the 2 hours I have to myself, I would like to start exercising for one. But other things I'd like to do is learn photoshop (thanks to Dom & Jerry they have done some pretty impressive things), continue beading and scrap booking, making my Christmas cards, and put together my doll house I've had for years. - I'll let you know how my plans work out. ; )

Other than that, I'm so proud of Ty besides the obvious reasons. He took it upon himself to get all his school supplies around and packed in his new book bag yesterday and school doesn't start until the 19th! And then I was told he had an awesome practice and no spats with his dad on the way home!

Now that I've slammed my iced latte and have caffeine kickin - better go get some work done.

Loved your blog today sweetie. You need to get a treadmill for dOg as "The Dog Whisperer" puts his dogs on them all the time. I think once around the block would be good and not too much for dOg. I'd walk with you too in a heartbeat!!

There is a new book out about Christoper & Dana Reeves. I saw it in the "I want you back" pack I got from Doubleday book club. That's right up your alley!!Of course I have no clue what the title is.

Hope you had a good night and a great day tomorrow.
