You can't live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you. ~John Wooden
I met Lisa for dinner at Cracker Barrel on Friday night before heading to Santa- Cali-Gon. We had a very enjoyable dinner, after much "studying" of the menu a day before and having my mind made up to have breakfast for dinner (one of my favorites) - "cod" slipped out when ordering! - Never fails! We rocked in the chairs on the patio before and after our meal just enjoying the weather, people watching and the quite sounds of our absent husbands and children... We laughed as everyone we saw was about 30 years older than us. We said, we're just getting a head start!
We took Noland Road to get to Santa-Cali-Gon. We caught a red light and there was a man on a Harley in front of me. He scared me because he was on the car's @$$ end in front of him. (They need not to be that close!) So anyway the light turned green, the car went, the motorcyclist tried to go and went squirrely! He flat laid it down! Without thinking twice I threw my truck into park, jumped out and asked if he was OK as I approached him. His leg was stuck under the bike so I picked the bike up off him (setting it back up) and he stood up. At the same time men are fleeing from Firestone and the cars behind me to also assist. He was definitely a little shook. The Firestone guys asked if he wanted to sit a minute but he declined and went on. {I can tell you, he wasn't on a Sportster (men don't look right on those). When I told Bri what happened that's the first thing he asked. I had always heard once a bike is laid down, it's hard to get up.} We followed him clear to 23rd Street and at every light, he'd do the same thing - get up on the car in front on him. Lisa asked if he was drunk, I told her probably not. It was a brand new bike and I don't think he was comfortable with it yet. His poor license plate & holder now resemble an accordion!
Be proud of me, the only thing I bought at Santa-Cali-Gon was a homemade root beer! I did see some great stuff I wanted but Lisa was my strong hold. We said we'd go back and get it, but by the time we were done - it was too far and my dogs were barking! We were still full from dinner that we didn't even buy a funnel cake! That's just unheard of!!!
Saturday, Ty played a GREAT football game! My hormones are wreaked. I wanted to cry in the stands. THERE IS NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL!!! An excerpt from the head coaches e-amil - "On a positive note I thought Tyler ******, boy, boy, boy, and boy played well on Saturday. These boys are exceeding my expectations this year and I would like to recognize it. Great job." I cannot tell you the details as far as what position & etc., but I can tell you Ty kicked @$$ on the field. Makes Tyler really proud that his coaches called him out. We ended the game with a tie 0-0. After that I took Ty and a friend to see The Longshots. Cute movie about a female Pop Warner football player that makes it to the championship game.
Sunday and Monday were low key. Sunday after church we went to dinner with our neighbors and their family. About 18 in all at Jose Peppers! We had some good laughs. Monday Bri and I drove to the outskirts of Warrensburg to an Amish Furniture shop. They are VERY fond of their furniture so we let them keep it. Over $900 for a bench to put at the foot of your bed! I was planning on somthing like... oh say $200! Ty & I later went to the pool and Bri joined us. We played monkey in the middle for about 2 hours. And I straight hit my baby right in the face with the ball! Don't feel bad for too long as he returned the favor in no time! We came home and Ty & I headed to the grocery store. He's such a good helper. He pushed the cart. I even told one lady, "I teaching him how to drive!" :)
We ended the extended weekend with a nice dinner on the deck enjoying the last few days of summer while we can.
Peace

I read your Harley story to Steve and the first thing he asked me was "Was it an FLH?" The biggest and heaviest Harley made!!!!He got a kick out of your story.

You go girl! What a good samaritian helping the motorcycle dude...even if he was being crazy! I skipped the Santi Fesitval. We were driving up towards that way on Monday because I wanted to take pictures but noticed all the traffic. Sean then said "Oh the Santi Cali Gon is going on"...I whipped my car in the turn lane by the police station and headed in the other direction.
Way to go, TY!!!! That is awesome!
