We did something a little different this year for New Year's Eve. Tyler & I stayed the night at my mom & Steve's house while Brian was at home watching football. He was invited out but decided against it, which was OK with me. We had good intentions on spending a fun filled evening watching Hancock, playing the board game - Boxers or Briefs, and playing Mario's Kart and Sports on the WII. Ty even brought out his two bottles of Sparking Grape Juice - Red & White.
During Hancock - I was out like a light, but would wake every once and awhile. After Hancock Steve went to bed (he was on call all week and had made two trips out that day) as he was tired out. Tyler was determined to keep grandma Cindy up as he wouldn't let her fall asleep in her chair. Mind you - during the day we shopped (Mom, Linds, Ty & I) for approx. 10 hours! My dogs were barking! (feet ached) Ty's New Year's wasn't quite like he had planned but had an OK time. We did play Wii the next morning after breakfast and drank the Sparking Grape Juice - Welch's 2007 (good year) at breakfast.
Another good story I want to share (from my comment to Stac re: parking lots at a stand still)... "I too was in that parking lot mess near BEST BUY. GIRL- would you believe that I put my truck in 4 wheel drive and jumped the curb to avoid setting in that traffic!!! I sure did - my mom and Ty were cryin' in the back seat and jumped the curb in front of 2 cops directing traffic out of the Center! ;D"
Brian and I dropped Ty & mom off at Best Buy while we ATTEMPTED to go to the Sprint Store. It was nasty stop & go traffic inch by inch for AT LEAST 30 mins. I was at a quarter tank of gas and by the time we were done I was on fumes! And I would do it all over again! :)
Oh and how about this story - (I know it's my first day back from being out of the office for 17 days and should be focusing on that instead of this - but I have locked myself out of my system and waiting to regain access again. I could be cleaning my desk - dust bunnies have taken over since I left! YIKES!) OK - A.D.D. girl - focus here - So this morning I am sitting at 119th and Nall waiting on the light when I see bubbles floating through the intersection.... What?! Where on earth are these bubbles coming from? It takes no time to follow the trail and see it's coming from a car on the left side of the intersection from me. I'm thinking to myself is it the car making those? Is there a bubble blower attached to the car? Then I see it's coming from the driver's side window. So I think it's some girl on her way to school with some friends. My light turns green, I make my left hand turn I grab a glimpse of the driver and you'll never believe it was an elder man blowing the soap bubbles!!! It put the BIGGEST smile on my face! I would have never guessed! Good for him for keeping his youth!!! :)
