... that I have to toot my horn about.
First, I have reached my 1st gallon of blood donations! Took some time to get there but I did it! And just think when I first started to donate, I was scared to death. And I had to make a production about it. I had to faint then have the smelling salts, the ice packs on the head & abdomen, I had to have all the attention! What would take the normal person 20 mins would take me 90 mins.
After a couple of times I thought I was getting better at the art of giving, I gave my pint and was at the table getting my reward of cookies & coke and in the middle of talking to my friend I suddenly turned white as a ghost and said, "I need to lay down." The newbie behind the table wasn't quick enough to act so I slumped out on my chair and laid on the ground with my feet up on the chair. Did I mention I was in a dress? And did I mention I didn't care? A time or two after that incident by trial and error I learned I have to lay completely flat while I give and I don't squeeze when they tell me to. (You know - squeeze for 5 release for 5) Since then it's become second nature to me and I don't even give it a second thought. I feel as if I am paying it forward.
Secondly, I have reached the 30 pound mark of weight loss - again. This time it's permanent. The main thing I am still doing cutting my portions way back. Brian and I always share when we go out to eat which has helped the pocketbook too. I am slowly getting back into exercise. I got a new phone for Christmas that I can download music to and I think that will help me when I go for walks. Gotta get those upbeat songs!
Peace.
