Thanks for the memories...

I heard some disturbing news this weekend - 3 eighth graders went to school drunk last week and there is one girl pregnant. Ready or not: here comes junior high!

Tyler and other fellow scouts and parents were abruptly awakened at midnight to exploding tires of the truck which hauled the troop’s trailer to this weekend’s campout. (The cause was believed be an electrical short) Very scary as there were tents as close as five feet from the trailer that stores propane. At Sunday’s church service all boy lead, taps was played and a moment of silence was observed for the truck. I wasn’t there but at Saturday night’s campfire, I understand there was a song made of about the truck to the tune of “Burning Ring of Fire”. The blessing is that the truck caught on fire away from home as he parks his truck close to his kid’s bedrooms. I am thankful no one was hurt.

2009 basketball season ended this Saturday with second place. The boys played hard and never gave up, it just wasn’t in our favor this year to place first. I am really going to miss the company on Monday & Thursday nights. We had a great group of boys and hope to see them next year. A boy on the other team was thrown out of the game because of unsportsmanlike conduct on Ty. The kid hit Ty in the face with the basketball and then shoved him. The other team was also given a technical foul. Tyler handled it very well, you could see the rage on his face but he never let into it.

It’s the end of February and we are already on baseball practice number three. Ty’s bat was looking hot yesterday. He was doing great with his pop flies and grounders too.

Brian is feverishly working on his school work although he’s upset with me because I won’t do his homework for him. ; ) I told him last night, “Just like I tell your son, I’ll HELP you but I’m not doing it for you!” He claims he has a hard time talking about himself. If you believe that, please raise your hands. (crickets chirp) I am super proud of him though, he’s a fabulous student.

Not sure what to update on me, I’m just the gal that hangs around the house to do laundry, cook, clean and provide taxi services. I was able to sort through Ty’s school work that I wanted to keep to scrapbook. What I thought would be a horrible task wasn’t that bad after all. I have kept a lot of papers from preschool to present and wasn’t sure how to downsize. I’ve attempted it many times before and not ever making headway. But the right feeling finally came and I was able to pitch most of it and only keep a few precious ones. I’m sure once I work on each grade I might be able to downsize further.

Peace!

So glad to hear everyone is ok. That is scary.

Oh Kel, you don't know the half of it. EVERYTHING you have been able to protect your sweet child from up until now will be known to your child. Even though I do not consider myself very smart I think homeschooling would be far better than what Kay hears at her school. The big thing now is girls dating each other in JR High!!

You will do alot of praying from this point on out. Just trust in the Lord that He will protect your baby.

Oh that boy has good roots, his the apple of my eye when it comes to a mentor for my son. Prayers of course never hurt. But Ty is a shoe in. JR HIGH tell me he's not in JR HIGH next year. OH dear Lord! bb
