Girl's Weekend

I got a bittersweet message this morning; some of the girls that meet for fall Girl's Weekend are heading to Topeka for a 'haunting' good time. We did something of the sort a few years back in Atchison, KS. Our cabin group declined the offer as a lot of us are looking forward to the Sugar Mound Craft Festival. We make mental notes of what we saw from previous years that we want to go back for. Such as this lady paints exquisite designs on gourds. Mom got one last year; I had already ran out of my funds to get one so that's what I'm getting this time around! For lunch we look for the 'walking tacos'. Which is an open snack size bag of Frito's topped with a chili, lettuce, cheese, & sour cream. Served with a fork so you can 'walk' while you eat! Pretty ingenious I think; and most others do too as the line is always long.

We stay in La Cygne, KS at the lake in a cabin. The cabins are very bare. It's four plywood walls with 2 wooden platforms that stand about 2.5 tall topped with a 3" foam mattresses. A picnic table, sink, midget fridge, shower, & toilet. Yours for the price of $30 a night. We sleep 6-7 gals. You do the math, cheap!

Since the other girls aren't going we will not be invading the small bar in town like we normally do. That's all I can say about that. Because what happens at girl's weekend - stays at girl's weekend. Rather sitting my the campfire all evening long. Beth and I like to stoke the fire more than others. Beth, don't forget your poker! ; ) And if the weather is too cold; we may go inside and play a little round of bull caca or if we're feeling lucky maybe LRC with some quarters!
