Bellissimo! Bellissimo! - Ralph Bellini
Last night we attended the dinner theatre with the Snyder clan. Wayne and Wanda shared a table with Darren and Alaina while Brian and I accompanied Jeff and Mel. The dinner was a grand as the play! If you've never been, I suggest you try it at least once. I don't think you'll be sorry. I have always enjoyed going and wished I went more often.
Dinner starts with a salad with homemade buttermilk ranch (my favorite) or poppy seed vinaigrette dressing and warm garlic bread. With each play, they change the menu up a little. Last night, with pleasure, they served sugar snap peas, sweet pea melange, fried cauliflower, smoked mushroom pasta, roasted garlic potatoes, peasant polenta, slow smoked pit ham with peach-cranberry walnut conserve, blackened basa with ancho-lime aioli sauce, cashew chicken & oyster sauce, beef tenderloin with brown sugar & red current scented veal demi-glace, and creole stew. AND for dessert I had the classic Creme Brulee and Brian had the feature dessert of GONE BANANAS which was moist banana cake divided by a layer of banana cream cheese and encased in chocolate ganache. Finished with fresh bananas sauteed in amaretto-carmel sauce. How do you spell hog heaven? Oink-oink! At least dessert is served at intermission. :)
Oh, you probably are interested in the story too...
THE LAST ROMANCE is a heartwarming boy-meets-girl comedy. What makes this one unique is that the boy and the girl are senior citizens! Love, like aging, they discover, is not for the weak or those without a lively sense of humor. Paul Michael plays Ralph Bellini, a vigorous, full of life octogenarian with an eye for the ladies. Ralph has had a few years to hone his best jokes and pick up lines. Marion Ross is Carol Reynolds, an attractive, very well dressed woman of a certain age who never expected another chance at love and had no defenses against Ralph.
Such a good, good show with a nice little life lesson. I found it ironic in the sense of some of the story line pertains to Italy and our friend Dom is there now. Last I heard - he was on a beach. Dom - this is for you... BAH! ; )
Peace

We talk about going to the dinner theatre all the time but never put it into action. We should get together and go sometime. The food sounds delicious and I am ALWAYS up for a play. Did you get your Christmas Carol tickets yet? If so, what date are you going?
